ITQAN and Fujitsu-Siemens Computers Team Up to Promote “Green IT”
ITQAN and Fujitsu-Siemens Computers hosted a “Green IT” forum in Abu Dhabi on August 20th, where industry professionals got the chance to discuss and address the challenge of implementing energy efficient IT systems and datacenters in the face of rising global energy prices.
“While companies recognize the high cost of major data centers, many are unfamiliar with the technology and business processes available to help combat the inflexible nature of IT systems,” said Chandan Mehta, Product Manager Enterprise Product, and Fujitsu Siemens Computers. “As an industry leader in green technology, we consider it our responsibility to facilitate constructive debate and provide accurate information which will empower both individuals and businesses to make green choices in the future.”
The forum included a detailed look at Fujitsu-Siemens Computers’ environmental strategy called “Green IT” which sets environmental responsibility at the center of all business processes and decision making. This entailed information about its Dynamic Data Centre solutions, which utilizes the latest virtualization and automation technology to drive green business-responsive IT.
“It is becoming possible to build data centers that are both energy efficient and responsive to regional business needs. By transitioning to more environmentally sound computing systems and learning to manage data center services, businesses will find that they can focus upon core business objectives ultimately cutting costs, increasing market share, and developing new business opportunities,” added Mehta.
Feras Al-Jabi, ITQAN’s General Manager, believes it’s crucial for companies to become more socially responsible.
“Our partnership with Fujitsu Siemens is a very strategic step, since it addresses a cause that I believe will be of great importance
and interest in the future. Companies and people in general are becoming more environmentally conscious and aware, and Fujitsu Siemens’
products will definitely appeal to this target market.”
The forum witnessed strong attendance of IT professionals from different companies, and the press who seemed enthusiastic about this cause sponsored by ITQAN and Fujitsu-Siemens. This event also signaled the commencement of an official partnership between ITQAN and Fujitsu-Siemens.
